Our hospital supports April Dream, a project that makes April 1st a day to broadcast dreams. This press release is the dream of 'Okayama Medical Consumers' Cooperative, General Hospital Okayama Kyoritsu Hospital'.
Our dream is to evolve the local medical scene in Okayama into a 'community exchange hub' where anyone, from children to the elderly, can casually gather, play, learn, eat, and interact with health.

■ Background to realizing the dream
The role of medical institutions in the community is not limited to medical examination and treatment. As the declining birthrate and aging population progress, improving health awareness, intergenerational exchange, and building connections with the community are becoming increasingly important. On the other hand, hospitals are often perceived as 'places to go when you are feeling unwell.' That is why we want to make the hospital a more open place and create opportunities for people to feel closer to medical care and health.
By multiplying medical care, health, food, experiences, and entertainment, we will create a society where local residents naturally take an interest in health and connect with the hospital. That is the future Okayama Kyoritsu Hospital aims for.

■ Okayama Kyoritsu Hospital's Initiatives
As a first step, last fiscal year on Sunday, November 23, 2025, we held the 'Health Festival 2025 Connecting to the Future' to commemorate our 65th anniversary. Blessed with good weather on the day, we welcomed approximately 4,000 visitors. At the event, under the theme of 'Play, Eat, Learn,' we implemented projects that multiple generations could enjoy, including about 15 food and beverage booths, medical experiences, health checks, animal petting, photo spots, and stage events. In addition, in the visitor questionnaire, 92.3% of respondents answered 'satisfied' or 'very satisfied,' and we received many warm comments. Through this response, we have once again realized the potential of the hospital becoming an open exchange place for the community.

■ Initiatives planned for 2026
To further expand this trend, on Sunday, November 22, 2026, we plan to hold the 'Great Dinosaur FES & Super Meat Gourmet FES,' including a 'Tyrannosaurus Race,' with the hospital as the venue.
*This is planned as a project for the purpose of community exchange and health awareness, while paying attention to safety and operational aspects.
By combining the extraordinary excitement of dinosaurs, the joy of gourmet food, and learning about medical care and health, we will create an opportunity for children, younger generations, and families who have had little contact with the hospital to casually visit us. We do not want to end these challenges as a one-off event, but rather we want to make Okayama Kyoritsu Hospital a 'symbolic place where you can encounter health in the community.'
For example,
Children having admiration for medical professions through medical experiences.
