Shin Yamagishi Photo Exhibition "KAO - Faces of Japan scene1226-1321 -" to be Held

Okamura Corporation (Headquarters: Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, President and CEO: Masayuki Nakamura) will hold the Shin Yamagishi Photo Exhibition "KAO - Faces of Japan scene1226-1321 -" at the Okamura Garden Court Showroom from July 13 (Mon) to July 25 (Sat), 2026.

The "KAO - Faces of Japan scene1226-1321 -" exhibition will feature 96 portraits of prominent individuals taken by photographer Shin Yamagishi on the theme of "Faces of Japan." During the exhibition period, special events such as a gallery talk show and a gallery walk will be held.

Greetings

This portrait photography exhibition has been ongoing since 2007.

Thanks to the efforts of Okamura Corporation, we are able to hold the "KAO" photo exhibition again this year at the Okamura Garden Court Showroom in New Otani.

I am deeply grateful for the support and assistance of many people that allows this exhibition to take place.

I will continue to press the shutter, encouraged by the continuation of my "memories and records."

And, never forgetting my gratitude for everything, I sincerely wish for everyone's happiness.

Tokachi Tourism Ambassador

Received the Photographic Society of Japan Award in 2016

Active in a wide range of fields including portraits of actors, idols, and athletes, as well as advertising, gravure, photo books, and magazine photography. As a Tokachi Tourism Ambassador, he contributes through photography, focusing on Banei horse racing.

Has held exhibitions such as "World Cultural Heritage Kamo-Wakeikazuchi Shrine (Kamigamo Shrine) The 42nd Shikinen Sengu - The Road to the Grand Rebuilding -." His "Shunkan no Kao" (Momentary Faces) and "KAO" photo exhibitions, featuring portraits of prominent figures from various fields, have exceeded a total of 1300 subjects photographed. In addition to photo collections such as "Seikyo no Sakura" (Tokuma Shoten) and "Banei" (Asahi Shimbun Publishing), he photographed the poster for "Political Change." for Democratic Party leader Yukio Hatoyama in 2009. On October 25, 2016, he served as the official photographer for the visit of Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress to Kamo-Wakeikazuchi Shrine, after which the commemorative publication "The Ceremony of Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress's Visit" was released (currently His Majesty the Emperor Emeritus and Her Majesty the Empress Emerita). From March 22, 2023, to August 7, 2024, he held "IMPERIAL Legacy" at the Imperial Hotel, followed by the publication of the photo book "IMPERIAL LEGACY."
