Listener-Provided Sounds Become Music. Ryo’LEFTY’Miyata Talks About Co-creation with Bassists

The 84th episode of the JFN national FM radio program 'MUSIC TOURIST' (hosted by music producer Ryo’LEFTY’Miyata), airing from May 9, 2026 (Saturday), will feature original music introduced by listeners and a special on skilled bassists.

This week, using 'sounds' submitted by listeners as material, an ethereal original song will be created and unveiled, utilizing technologies such as vocoders.
Additionally, Ryo’LEFTY’Miyata will introduce songs by talented bassists whom he respects as a fellow bassist. He will talk about the outstanding performance techniques and sound production of world-renowned artists like Thundercat and Royal Blood, as well as co-writing with Dirty Loops.

'MUSIC TOURIST,' themed 'A Journey of Music,' unravels the true faces of artists. Throughout the program, it proposes diverse ways to enjoy music, from familiar sounds to professional music production.

Ryo’LEFTY’Miyata (Personality)
Music Producer / Co-founder of OIKOS MUSIC

Born in Tokyo, Ryo’LEFTY’Miyata is a music producer, arranger, lyricist, composer, bassist, keyboardist, guitarist, and manipulator.
He learned piano in his childhood and admired film composers like Joe Hisaishi, but after encountering Hi-STANDARD in elementary school, he decided to become a band member.
He excels at pop melody making and arrangements that cross over various genres, and has provided, produced, and arranged music for numerous artists such as BE:FIRST, eill, Superfly, timelesz, sumika, Hyde, Tani Yuuki, MISIA, chevon, V6, ASH DA HERO, ALI, Hoshimachi Suisei, and RADIO FISH.
He also performs live support for many artists as a utility player, including official HIGE DANdism, sumika, and BE:FIRST.
From 2018, he began co-writing activities with overseas artists, expanding his music activities with a global market in mind. In 2022, he founded 'OIKOS MUSIC' to support young artists.
In 2024, he launched the artist project 'cross-dominance by Ryo'LEFTY’Miyata,' which brings together artists of different nationalities, genres, genders, and generations to deliver music to the world.

JFN National FM Radio Program 'MUSIC TOURIST'
A talk program that travels through the world of music and creativity with music producer Ryo’LEFTY’Miyata. It invites listeners into the creative world by conversing with leading artists, producers, film directors, manga artists, and other cross-genre individuals. 'MUSIC TOURIST' features artists, producers, and creators speaking in their own words, making it feel like you are creating works together.
New songs born from encounters on this program will also be unveiled. This includes collaborative songs born from talks with famous and emerging artists, as well as collaborations with singers, players, traditional instrument performers, and amateur musicians living in the areas of the program's network stations. Listener submissions include sounds picked up during travels and 'sounds from various parts of Japan' where listeners live, which are then woven into music.
