Bicycle 'Blue Ticket' System Survey: 'About Half Understand the Violations', 'Nearly 70% Plan to Own a Helmet'

OGK Kabuto Co., Ltd. (Location: Higashiosaka City; President & CEO: Hiroki Kimura), a domestic pioneer manufacturer of bicycle helmets, conducted a questionnaire survey on the bicycle blue ticket system and other related topics among approximately 1,000 men and women aged 15 and older nationwide who use bicycles, ahead of 'Bicycle Helmet Day' on May 1. As a result, it was revealed that while over 90% are aware of the start of the system, only about half understand the specific violation details. Furthermore, the possession rate of bicycle helmets is 36%, with 32% planning to acquire one in the future. Additionally, among those who own a helmet but were not wearing it, about 70% indicated their intention to wear it after the system starts. [Survey Results Summary] 1. In response to 'Please tell us what is closest to your understanding regarding the application of blue tickets,' 14.3% answered 'I understand the specific violations and the fine amounts,' and 33.2% answered 'I understand the specific violations (but don't know the fine amounts),' meaning that 47.5% grasp the specific violation details. Awareness of the start of the system was high at 92%, and the main sources of information were media such as TV news and information programs.
