3rd Organic Lifestyle EXPO West in Kyoto to Promote Local Organic Business and Sustainable Community Building in June 2026

The third Organic Lifestyle EXPO held in the Kansai area will promote local organic business and community development through a wide range of keynote speeches and professional seminars. Under the theme “Local & Organic: Organic as Community Building,” the convention will bring together the organic industry and serve as a venue for business talks, consumer sales, and communication centered on Japan’s organic sector. Around 120 companies and 150 booths are expected to participate, including general exhibitors, municipal booths, and producer booths, offering visitors a chance to experience the new value and future of organic lifestyles. Organizer-curated theme areas will include a market for new farmers and producers, an organic and sustainable restaurant food court, a real organic natural cosmetics zone, an ethical fashion and lifestyle goods world zone, a traditional culture corner, and the Hakutoya Exhibition. Organic Lifestyle EXPO began in Tokyo in 2016 and completed its 10th edition in 2025. Centered on organic values, it has grown into a business creation and networking platform for companies, organizations, and producers that share values such as LOHAS, sustainability, ethical consumption, fair trade, diversity, and local community development. It has also continued to offer opportunities to propose new value through contact with highly conscious consumers. From this year, the EXPO introduces a new theme: “Now is the time for lifestyles and society to shift toward sustainability. From organic to a future of regeneration and co-creation: Shift-Sustainability.” The event aims to connect this shift toward a sustainable society with concrete action. In addition to keynote speeches and professional seminars, it will also host the 3rd Organic Village Partnership Meeting WEST, sharing practical examples from municipalities that have declared themselves Organic Villages and exploring opportunities for collaboration. The event will be held on June 12 and 13, 2026, from 10:00 to 17:00, at Exhibition Hall 2 of Kyoto City Kangyokan Miyako Messe. Concurrent events include the National Organic Village Partnership Forum, the 3rd Kids Award Kyoto food drawing contest, and the 4th National Solar Sharing Festival. Admission is 1,000 yen including tax, while visitors with invitations or advance registration can enter for free. Advance registration is available until June 10, 2026. According to the organizer, as interest grows in environmental issues, food safety, and regional sustainability, organic is becoming an important theme that goes beyond agriculture and encourages society to rethink its overall direction. The EXPO will bring together producers, businesses, municipalities, and consumers to present new lifestyle and business possibilities centered on organic values, from Kyoto to Japan and the future.
