■ Report Overview
This report details the construction process, specifications, efforts of various construction organizations, voices of residents, and recommendations for future disasters regarding the "wooden emergency temporary housing" that supported the reconstruction of victims' lives after the Noto Peninsula Earthquake, which occurred on January 1, 2024. Based on interviews with government officials, construction organizations, and residents, as well as on-site surveys, it includes numerous photos and drawings, serving as a valuable record for improving the planning and quality of future emergency temporary housing.
■ Our Association's Initiatives and Cooperation in the Report
Following the Noto Peninsula Earthquake, our association utilized offsite production (distributed manufacturing network) by member companies nationwide to supply a total of 261 units of wooden emergency temporary housing across 8 sites in Nanao City, Wajima City, and Noto Town.
The supplied emergency housing boasts high performance, equivalent to seismic resistance class 3 and insulation class 5-6, and is designed for future permanent use (transition to permanent structures). The offsite production method minimized on-site work, enabling rapid supply while reducing the burden on the infrastructure of the affected areas.
Our association cooperated in the creation of this report by providing information and drawings related to our business achievements, as well as contributing articles.
Our association conducted support activities for the Noto Peninsula Earthquake under its former name, "Japan Mobile Construction Association." Subsequently, the name was changed to the current "Japan Offsite Construction Association."
