The Japan Offsite Construction Association (Location: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Toshinari Nagasaka) will exhibit at "BREX 2026," a comprehensive exhibition for housing, architecture, and real estate, held at Tokyo Big Sight from May 13 (Wednesday) to May 15 (Friday), 2026. Concurrently, the association will participate as a cooperating organization in "Kenchiku Live '26," a special project within the exhibition, starting this year.

■ About "Kenchiku Live '26" (Organized by: BREX Exhibition Executive Committee and Daiku no Kai)

"Kenchiku Live '26" is an experiential architectural project unique to the housing industry, developed primarily by the BREX Executive Committee and "Daiku no Kai." Within the exhibition venue, a live construction demonstration will be held over three days, building a unit house (approximately 6m x 4m) from scratch.

Carpenters will explain the performance of building materials and key construction points in real-time as the work progresses. Practical experience workshops, including hand-carving, insulation filling, and painting, will also be held. The completed unit house is planned to be relocated and utilized as a social stock even after the exhibition ends.

■ About Daiku no Kai

Daiku no Kai is an association by carpenters, for carpenters.

"Daiku no Kai" is a community that gathers wisdom and experience from across the country to pass on to the next generation.

It is a place where carpenters seriously confront challenges such as the diminishing value of invisible skills and the decreasing number of successors, learning from each other and sharing knowledge. The aim is to transcend industry boundaries and create a future where carpenters can work with pride.

This year, their activities will even reach space! Please pay attention to their passion at the venue!

■ About Our Association's Participation

Our association is a non-profit organization that promotes the widespread adoption and standardization of "offsite construction" (factory-produced construction), which separates component manufacturing in factories from on-site assembly.

The concept that the unit house built at Kenchiku Live '26 will continue to be utilized in various locations even after the event deeply resonates with our association's philosophy of offsite construction—architecture that can be quickly assembled, repurposed, and relocated when and where needed. We look forward to sharing the possibilities demonstrated by the combination of carpenters' craftsmanship and factory-produced construction with all visitors.

■ Visitor Information

We welcome a wide range of stakeholders, including local government officials, construction companies, and those involved in the architectural and construction industries.

At our association's booth, you can consult on the following:

【For Local Government Officials】

Based on our track record of supplying 261 emergency housing units during the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake, we will explain our rapid housing supply scheme for disasters and the mechanism for concluding agreements with local governments.

【For Construction Companies and Architectural/Construction Industry Professionals】

We will introduce offsite construction's division of labor model, standard specifications, and case studies that achieve shorter construction periods and stable quality.
