Applications Open for "Nursing Professional Liability Insurance" Starting July 2026 to Prepare for Nursing Risks

The Japan Male Nurses Association (Location: Tokyo, Representative Director: Kosuke Tsubota) has started accepting applications for its official "Nursing Professional Liability Insurance," tailored to nursing risks, for coverage beginning July 1, 2026. The application deadline is Monday, June 15, 2026. *Both men and women can join.

■ Background

In the nursing field, various risks exist, including medical accidents, troubles during physical assistance, and differences in perception with patients and their families.

Male nurses, in particular, sometimes face unique challenges, such as misunderstandings during physical assistance or the risk of false accusations regarding harassment.

On the other hand, insurance policies held by medical institutions are predicated on protecting the "organization," and there is a possibility that an individual may not receive sufficient compensation if sued personally or if the individual's stance does not align with the organization's.

Given this background, the Association has launched the provision of Nursing Professional Liability Insurance specializing in "protecting the individual."
