Nulab Launches First Features of Workflow Automation Tool 'Nulab Flowbase'

Nulab Inc. (headquartered in Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture, hereinafter "Nulab") announces the launch of "Nulab Flowbase," an AI-powered workflow automation tool, starting today, June 16, 2026 (Tuesday). As the first release, it will be offered free of charge to organizations with premium plans of "Backlog." Going forward, Nulab will enhance the features and aims to begin general availability by 2027.

Nulab Flowbase is a new service that consistently supports the design, execution, visualization, and improvement of business processes through AI conversations. Based on knowledge data accumulated within organizations, it transforms workflows previously dependent on individual experience and memory into reproducible systems.

■ Background

While DX is advancing in many companies, task-specific knowledge concentrated in individuals remains unresolved. The burden of handovers due to staff transfers or resignations, and time spent on coordination tasks such as progress checks, continues to hinder overall organizational productivity.

In response to these challenges, Nulab has supported project management through "Backlog" since its founding in 2004, accumulating business knowledge data for over 20 years. "Nulab Flowbase" is a new operational foundation developed from this expertise, where AI consistently supports the design, execution, visualization, and improvement of business processes.

Design workflows through AI conversation

Based on information accumulated in Backlog, AI reads business flows and automatically generates workflow templates. By simply conversing with AI in chat format, users can embed business processes into systems without relying on specialized skills or external consultants. Designed workflows integrate with Backlog, automatically creating tasks and assigning owners.

Automatic workflow execution

Triggered by schedule settings or completion of prior steps, the system automatically creates tasks for the next step and notifies responsible parties. This reduces management costs such as progress checks and follow-ups, enabling continuous workflow execution without manual intervention.

Real-time visualization and improvement of progress

Displays in real time the responsible parties, completion status, and bottlenecks for each step. By visualizing actual operations, teams can identify bottlenecks and continuously improve processes.
