Implementing 'Unique Career Support Programs', Job Satisfaction Rate at 92.8%
At our university, which is highly evaluated as a 'university strong in employment', the key to employment support lies in operating proprietary career support programs and thoroughly providing 'individualized support' that faces each student's career path. We gradually foster students' awareness of employment by providing opportunities to participate in various programs such as 'Overseas Internships' to experience working in Japanese companies in Asian countries, and 'Convincing Job Offer Seminars' and 'Employment Training Sessions' to advance selection preparation like self-analysis and interview practice under the guidance of senior supporters. Furthermore, during the third year when guidance goes into full swing, we instill awareness for employment at listed companies like Nikkei 225 and JPX400 in guidance sessions and individual career consultations. As a result, the students of this year's graduating class who have received job offers from listed companies account for 32.3% of the total number of employed students.
Additionally, a survey targeting students who have decided on their employment revealed that satisfaction with their jobs reached 92.8%, the highest result in the last five years. By continuously providing advice based on a database that centrally manages each student's preferences and the constantly changing situation of job hunting, precise support tailored to that student has become possible.
Nagoya University of Commerce & Business's Unique Career Support Programs
Overseas Internship (Career Advancement Program International)
We conduct a 3-week to 3-month work experience program sponsored by the university, centered around Japanese companies expanding into Southeast Asia and India. By challenging practical internships, students polish their initiative and independence. Also, by putting themselves in an overseas environment away from Japan, they experience practical business while cultivating a global perspective, greatly utilizing it for their future working image and personal career formation.
Convincing Job Offer Seminar
This is a 5-day on-campus seminar held during summer and winter vacations to thoroughly conduct self-analysis. To win a convincing job offer, the quality of self-analysis holds the key. By facing and analyzing oneself while receiving lectures from professional instructors and advice from senior students, it not only helps with industry research and job selection necessary for job hunting but also enables smooth responses in all selections such as resumes, entry sheets, and interviews.
Employment Training Session
This is a 2-day intensive training where corporate HR personnel are invited to the campus as mock interviewers, conducting lectures and interview practice for students in an environment just like the real thing. Through practical mock group discussions, group interviews, and individual interview practice, students polish up their 'first impression', which is highly emphasized in job hunting.
