We are pleased to announce the exhibition 'Noriaki Hayashi 27th Yusaku Kamekura Award Commemorative Exhibition: VENUS' at the Nagoya University of Arts Art & Design Center WEST.

The Yusaku Kamekura Award, named after the late Yusaku Kamekura who led the Japanese graphic design world, is presented to outstanding designs that pioneer the times. It is a matter of great pride for our university that Mr. Noriaki Hayashi, a graduate of our design domain (then the design department), has received this prestigious award. At the same time, it is a significant event for our students to concretely sense their future possibilities.

In this exhibition 'VENUS', we will primarily showcase the award-winning works from the poster series that has been produced annually for 20 years for student recruitment at Joshibi University of Art and Design, where Mr. Hayashi teaches. Each poster is imbued with a clear concept, an unwavering compositional power, and an intensity that provokes the viewer's thought. Through these works, you will once again deeply realize the power that visuals possess to shape culture and values.

Particularly for the students of our university, the very attitude of sustaining ideas and updating expressions while formulating new questions every year will undoubtedly serve as a profound learning experience. We hope that through this exhibition, they will grasp that facing a single theme for an extended period, continuously sending messages to society, and accumulating such efforts will ultimately lead to recognition.

We anticipate that holding this event at his alma mater—which could be considered Mr. Hayashi's starting point—will provide an opportunity for students to contemplate their own futures, and that it will become a venue where intergenerational dialogue is generated.

Finally, we would like to express our deepest gratitude to all the related parties who have dedicated their efforts to realizing this exhibition, and we sincerely look forward to welcoming many of you to the venue.
