[First in Japan*] All Wakayama Waves home games in Kamitonda to be live-streamed using AI baseball cameras!

NTTSportict Corp. (Headquarters: Miyakojima-ku, Osaka; President: Masatoshi Nakamura; hereinafter "NTTSportict"), a provider of AI sports video solutions, will live-stream all 11 home games of the Wakayama Waves, a professional baseball team in the Sawakami Kansai Independent League, held at the Kamitonda Sports Center Baseball Stadium during the 2026 season. This initiative is part of "Machi-Spo," a sports DX-driven community development project conducted in partnership with Kamitonda Town, Wakayama Prefecture, and NTT West Corporation (Wakayama Branch). To commemorate the launch, public viewing events utilizing AI camera footage will be held inside the stadium during the opening games on Saturday, April 4, and Sunday, April 5. This is the first instance in Japan (*1) of continuously streaming official professional independent league games using the 'STADIUM TUBE DoublePlay' AI baseball camera while simultaneously providing a digital viewing experience on-site. ■ Bringing the excitement of the talented 'Wakayama Waves' to fans on-site and nationwide In addition to online live streaming, monitors will be installed within the Kamitonda Sports Center Baseball Stadium. Fans attending in person will be able to enjoy the raw intensity of the game right in front of them, while simultaneously viewing zoomed-in footage captured by AI cameras, such as the expressions of pitchers, the swings of batters, and close-call plays. By integrating digital technology, we are proposing a new style of spectating that enhances the value of the in-person experience. The Wakayama Waves are a talented professional team on the rise, having won the league championship in 2023 and producing NPB draft candidates for two consecutive years. As part of the "Machi-Spo" project in Kamitonda, we will utilize the permanent AI baseball cameras installed at the stadium to broadcast these intense games on the official Wakayama Waves YouTube channel, reaching not only the local community but baseball fans across the country.
