Mobile Battery Manufacturers and Telecom Carriers Conclude Partnership Agreement on Securing Power Supply in Disaster-Stricken Areas During Large-Scale Disasters

Mobile battery manufacturers (Anker Japan Co., Ltd., INFORICH Inc., EcoFlow Technology Japan Co., Ltd., ELECOM CO., LTD., Owltech Co., Ltd., CIO Co., Ltd., UGREEN JAPAN CO., LTD.), and telecom carriers participating in the Tsunagu x Kaeru Project*1 (NTT Group*2, KDDI CORPORATION, SoftBank Corp., Rakuten Mobile, Inc., hereinafter "telecom carriers") have concluded a partnership agreement regarding the securing of power supply in disaster-stricken areas during large-scale disasters (hereinafter, "this agreement"). Purpose of this Agreement In recent years, with the advancement of digitalization, the importance of securing power supplies in disaster-stricken areas has been increasing. While mobile battery manufacturers have been providing support to disaster-stricken areas through the provision of power equipment such as mobile batteries, it is sometimes difficult to provide support on their own. On the other hand, telecom carriers are active in wide areas of disaster-stricken regions through support for securing communication environments in established evacuation centers. Therefore, based on this agreement, they will cooperate in the delivery of support equipment provided by mobile battery manufacturers, contributing to the strengthening of power supply security in disaster-stricken areas. This will make it easier for evacuees in shelters to secure charging means for their smartphones and other devices, allowing them to more securely contact family and friends and obtain necessary information, thereby strengthening support for their lives during a disaster. 2.
