NTT East Adds Wi-Fi 7 Compatible Rental Router to "FLET'S Hikari Cross" Equipment Lineup

NTT East Corporation (hereinafter, NTT East) will add a rental router compatible with the latest Wi-Fi 7 standard, which realizes further high speed, low latency, and stable communication, to its lineup of provided equipment (hereinafter, this service), in addition to the existing Wi-Fi 6 compatible "FLET'S Hikari Cross" rental router, starting Monday, May 11, 2026.
Please note that for this service and the Wi-Fi 6 compatible "FLET'S Hikari Cross" rental router, NTT East will select the equipment, and customers cannot specify the equipment themselves. We appreciate your understanding.

1. Background and Purpose of Provision

In recent years, domestic communication traffic has been increasing year by year due to the higher definition of video distribution services, the spread of online games, and the prevalence of teleworking. To meet the demand for improved communication quality, including the in-home usage environment as well as the optical line, and to enable more comfortable use of FLET'S Hikari Cross, which enables high-speed and large-capacity communication, we have decided to add a FLET'S Hikari Cross rental router compatible with Wi-Fi 7 to our lineup of provided equipment.

2. Service Overview

This service is compatible with Wi-Fi 7, the latest wireless LAN standard, and realizes communication that maximizes the high speed of "FLET'S Hikari Cross" not only in wired connections but also in wireless environments. Furthermore, by combining multiple units to build a mesh Wi-Fi*1, it covers a wider range and automatically builds an optimal Wi-Fi network comfortably in detached houses and apartment buildings.

*1 Mesh Wi-Fi refers to a communication form where multiple network devices are interconnected like a mesh.
By installing multiple rental routers, Wi-Fi signals are spread in a mesh pattern, allowing for comfortable communication anywhere in the house.
A "FLET'S Hikari Cross Compatible Rental Router Repeater" that can be used for mesh Wi-Fi is scheduled to be released at a later date.
