Nippon Steel Trading Signs MOU to Strengthen Strategic Collaboration with LEFORM, a Major Malaysian Construction Materials Manufacturer

Nippon Steel Trading Corporation (hereinafter "the Company") and its Malaysian subsidiary, NST TRADING MALAYSIA SDN. BHD. (hereinafter "NST Malaysia"), signed an MOU with LEFORM BERHAD (hereinafter "LEFORM"), a major manufacturer of construction material products in Malaysia, on April 22 to strengthen strategic collaboration.

LEFORM is a leading company experiencing rapid growth in the construction materials sector in Malaysia, holding a high domestic market share particularly in the manufacture and sale of steel pipes and guardrails. As LEFORM considered expanding its facilities for further business growth, NST Malaysia invested in the company in March in response to a request to subscribe to a third-party allotment of shares, with a view to strengthening the business and collaborative structure.

The signing ceremony for this MOU was attended by key representatives, including LEFORM CEO Law Kok Thye, the Company's President Nakamura, and NST Malaysia President Shinozuka. All parties agreed to further intensify the strategic partnership between the Group and LEFORM.

Moving forward, the Company intends to promote 'local production for local consumption' businesses in Malaysia through close cooperation with LEFORM. By capturing further steel demand, particularly in infrastructure-related sectors, the Company aims to strengthen its business foundation not only in Malaysia but also across the ASEAN region.
