Niigata University of Health and Welfare (NSG Group) announced that two out of ten research proposals submitted from the university have been adopted for the "AI for Science Exploratory Research Creation Project (SPReAD)" launched by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) this fiscal year.
This project is one of the "AI for Science" initiatives aimed at accelerating and innovating scientific research using AI, and is a new competitive research funding system that began accepting applications this fiscal year.
While the national adoption rate is a narrow gate at 2.9%, the university achieved an adoption rate of 20% with two out of ten proposals accepted, a result that significantly exceeds the national average. Among universities that submitted more than 10 proposals, only two, including this university, achieved an adoption rate of 20% or higher, demonstrating the high research capabilities of the university.
Niigata University of Health and Welfare will continue to promote advanced research that fuses AI with various specialized fields and engage in research and development that contributes to solving social issues.
