At our university, we promote "high school-university collaboration" which provides opportunities for high school students to deepen their understanding of their desired professions and to experience university learning in advance. This event was held for the first time as part of this initiative, serving as a venue for presenting the results of "Comprehensive Research Time," which has been emphasized in high schools in recent years, to university faculty with specialized knowledge and students from other schools. On the day of the event, approximately 150 new second and third-year high school students from 8 high schools inside and outside Niigata Prefecture participated, and a total of 65 presentations were made.

The presentations covered a wide range of fields, including medical/health, humanities/social sciences/welfare, natural sciences, and mathematics/information/engineering. Participants presented their research findings on self-selected topics in both oral and poster formats. At the venue, presentations were judged by university faculty and others, and active question-and-answer sessions and opinion exchanges took place.

Awards such as excellence awards, poster awards, and special awards from guests were presented to outstanding presentations, providing an opportunity to boost the motivation of participating high school students for their future research activities.

Our university will continue to support research activities that connect high schools and universities, contributing to the development of human resources who will lead the next generation.

It is one of the few comprehensive medical universities in Japan with 6 faculties and 16 departments, where students can study nursing, medicine, rehabilitation, nutrition, sports, welfare, and medical IT. Maximizing the advantages of being a comprehensive medical university, our university offers practical learning in "team medicine," which is essential in medical settings. We have also established a systematic qualification acquisition support system and employment support system across the entire university, achieving top-class national examination pass rates and high employment records nationwide. Furthermore, leveraging the unique environment of our university with sports-related departments, we develop integrated learning such as "sports" x "medicine," "rehabilitation," and "nutrition."
