◼︎ Background for Launching the New Social Education and Lifelong Learning Program
In recent years, our surrounding environment has undergone significant changes due to the rapid advancement of technologies such as generative AI and shifts in social structures. In such times, the ability to not only acquire knowledge but also to continuously learn by questioning various aspects of the world and seeking answers is more crucial than ever.
On the other hand, even when people want to "start something new" or "think about their future selves," opportunities for learning that serve as a catalyst or for dialogue with people holding diverse values are not abundant. Opportunities to learn while organizing one's own values and interests in an environment different from school or work are also limited.
Against this social backdrop, our organization is launching the "Inquiry Classroom for Living in Modern Society" as a new social education and lifelong learning program.
Through this program, we aim to provide a platform in an environment distinct from school or work, where diverse generations can learn together through dialogue, offering individuals an opportunity to consider "what they should learn next." Furthermore, we aspire to foster a continuous social education and lifelong learning program that grows with the community, by reflecting the ideas and voices of participants in the themes for future workshops.
◼︎ About the "Inquiry Classroom for Living in Modern Society"
This program is not a lecture that unilaterally imparts knowledge or ways of thinking. Instead, it is a social education and lifelong learning program that provides opportunities to organize one's own values and interests and consider "what they should learn next" through dialogue and workshops among participants.
For the first session, with the theme of "Finding Your 'Desire to Learn,'" high school students, university students, and working adults will engage in dialogue across generations and positions, reflecting on their own values and experiences to consider their future learning.
1 Discover Your Own Learning Through "Dialogue"
In this program, rather than passively acquiring knowledge, participants will be given opportunities to organize their own values and interests and consider "what they should learn next" through dialogue and workshops.
2 Learn Together Across Generations and Positions
High school students, university students, and working adults will gather beyond the frameworks of school and work to learn together, sharing diverse values and experiences. Gaining new perspectives and insights through dialogue with people in different positions is one of the features of this program.
3 Nurture a Learning Environment Together with the Community and Society
This program does not simply end with holding workshops. We will co-create with the community and society, reflecting participants' voices and ideas in the themes for future workshops, and foster a continuous social education and lifelong learning environment.
