NPO Consortium TIES (Chairman: Yasunori Yanagisawa) will hold the TIES Symposium 2026 'Micro-credentials Changing the Future of Education' on Friday, June 26, 2026, from 14:15 to 17:40 at the Osaka Kyoiku University Mirai Education Co-creation Hall.
Purpose of the Event
Amidst accelerating changes in society and technology, universities are increasingly required to play a new role in evaluating diverse learning outcomes that cannot be fully captured by degrees and connecting them to society. While learning formats such as public lectures, recurrent education, online education, and collaborative courses with other universities are expanding, their outcomes are managed in a dispersed manner and are not sufficiently linked to credit recognition at other universities or utilization in society.
Micro-credentials have the potential to visualize these learning outcomes and share them in a reliable manner, transforming learning from internal university records into information that can be utilized across universities and in society. This symposium will discuss the future of educational infrastructure from the perspectives of university collaboration, digital certification technology, and the social connection of learning outcomes, under the theme of 'Micro-credentials Changing the Future of Education.'
