■ Research to be Supported
Basic research contributing to new prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer
*We expect research results to be published in academic papers within 5 years of the grant start.
■ Eligibility Requirements
Young researchers conducting basic cancer research affiliated with a university, research institution, or medical institution in Japan.
As of the end of March 2026, generally, within 10 years of obtaining a doctorate.
■ Grant Details
Grant amount per case: Maximum 5 million JPY per year for 2 years (Total grant period up to 10 million JPY; indirect costs (overhead) will be paid separately outside this framework)
Total research grant (direct costs): Approximately 100 million JPY
Number of selected cases: Approximately 10
Grant period: October 1, 2026 – September 30, 2028

Notification of results: Late September 2026 (planned)
