NOWALL Inc., Atos Inc., and Kazo DX Farm & Robots Inc. are pleased to announce their collaboration to develop "Solar Sharing (Agri-photovoltaics)".
Through this collaboration, we aim to establish a circular agriculture model that covers the entire process from solar sharing development to the demonstration of next-generation smart civil engineering and smart agriculture, integrating the utilization of the latest construction DX technology with the training and employment support of global human resources.
[Background of Collaboration]
In recent years, the aging of the agricultural workforce, soaring feed and fertilizer prices, and energy challenges in local communities have become increasingly serious. As one solution to these issues, "Solar Sharing," which involves growing crops below while generating solar power above farmland, is gaining attention. By combining the unique strengths of three companies, we will achieve "local production and consumption of energy and resource circulation in agriculture," going beyond simple power generation and farming.
[Roles and Initiatives of Each Company]
1. NOWALL Inc.: Building an Energy + Agriculture Resource Circulation Model
In addition to "local production and consumption" where renewable energy generated by solar sharing is consumed within the region, we will utilize pasture grass produced under the panels and beverage residue to manufacture feed and supply it to local livestock and dairy farmers. Furthermore, we will collect livestock manure discharged from livestock and dairy farmers, recycle it into fertilizer and compost, and return it to the farmland to realize resource circulation.

2. Atos Inc.: Next-Generation Infrastructure Construction with Construction DX x Global Human Resources
By integrating DX (Digital Transformation) know-how in the construction and civil engineering fields with the training and employment support of global human resources, we will simultaneously achieve advanced construction technology and international contribution. In this collaboration, we will be responsible for civil engineering work and equipment installation associated with the introduction of solar sharing, and solidify the business foundation of the three companies through high-quality, high-productivity construction utilizing ICT construction technology.
3. Kazo DX Farm & Robots Inc.: Responsible for crop production and farming under solar sharing facilities. Concurrently, we will utilize the farmland as a demonstration field for "smart agriculture," including big data collection and analysis and automation using agricultural robots, to verify and establish a sustainable agriculture model that balances labor saving and high profitability.
[Representative Comments]
Comment from the Representative Director of NOWALL Inc.
"Solving energy and food issues are crucial themes inseparable from the future development of local communities. By combining our expertise in energy GX and food GX with Atos's overwhelming construction competitiveness and Kazo DX Farm & Robots' advanced farming technology, we are confident that we can achieve true 'resource circulation' and 'local production and consumption of energy.' Through this three-company collaboration, we will create new standards for sustainable agriculture and regional infrastructure."
Comment from the Representative Director of Atos Inc.
"By integrating NOWALL's resource circulation model with our construction DX, we will realize the construction of next-generation regional infrastructure. Based in Kazo City, Saitama Prefecture, we have provided high-quality civil engineering work nationwide by combining ICT construction technology with the training and employment support of global human resources. With this collaboration, we will build a solid foundation for solar sharing and jointly create a new future for Japanese local communities and the construction industry where everything circulates, sustains, and develops."
Comment from the Representative Director of Kazo DX Farm & Robots Inc.
"NOWALL's local production and consumption model for energy and resources creates extremely high synergy with our data-driven farming. In Kazo City, Saitama Prefecture, we have been practicing next-generation smart agriculture using agricultural robot development and ICT agricultural machinery. In this collaboration, we will be responsible for efficient crop production under solar sharing, verify technologies that free people from high-load tasks, and establish a new business model for sustainable and profitable regional agriculture."
