Since its launch on June 1, the 'Future Milk Image Submission Campaign 2026,' organized by Metagri Institute—a farming support community promoting 'agriculture × new technology' (operated by Nourinjin Co., Ltd., headquartered in Funabashi, Chiba Prefecture, CEO: Yuichiro Kai)—has received diverse entries, including photographs, illustrations, hand-drawn artworks, and AI-generated images.

Now, three new sponsors—Shimane Prefecture Milk Consumption Promotion Committee, Gelateria Kurakichi (Yamaguchi), and Mori no Gelateria MUCCA (Kagawa)—have joined the campaign, providing local milk and dairy products as special prizes for winners. Submissions reflect personal stories and visions about milk, and the initiative is gaining support from regional dairy farmers and industry stakeholders. Through this campaign, the June 'Milk Month' is being transformed into an opportunity for consumers and producers to jointly reflect on the future of milk, dairy farming, and regional communities. Note: The submission deadline is Tuesday, June 30, 2026.

Diverse Relationships with Milk Across 40 Submissions

The 'Future Milk Image Submission Campaign 2026' is a participatory image submission campaign launched by Metagri Institute in conjunction with 'Milk Month' in June.

The campaign invites entries—photos, illustrations, hand-drawn works, and AI-generated images—on themes such as 'My Milk Time,' 'A Table with Milk,' 'Future Milk,' 'Messages to Cows,' and 'What Kind of Milk Would You Like to See?'

As of June 15, approximately two weeks after the launch on June 1, 40 entries have been received.

Full list of entries

Among responses collected by June 15, all participants reported consuming milk and dairy products 'at least 2–3 times per week,' with many indicating 'almost daily' consumption. A wide range of photos, illustrations, and personal stories have been submitted by people who regularly enjoy milk.

Moving forward, entries—including descriptions and free-text responses—will be analyzed using AI to identify trends and shared interests, with personal information anonymized. The aggregated and anonymized analysis results will be shared with cooperating dairy farms such as Kawakami Farm and dairy industry partners, and used to support future outreach initiatives and projects that connect consumers with dairy farming.

Introduction of the Three New Sponsors

Shimane Prefecture Milk Consumption Promotion Committee (Shimane)

The Shimane Prefecture Milk Consumption Promotion Committee is an organization composed of producer groups made up of dairy farmers, dairy industry associations, and agricultural institutions. It works collaboratively to promote understanding of dairy farming and expand milk and dairy product consumption through awareness campaigns and events. In June 2026, three local dairy manufacturers in Shimane will jointly launch the 'Shimane no Gyūnyū Nomōne Campaign' to promote the appeal of locally produced milk. The campaign will offer limited-edition sets combining milk, yogurt, puddings, and other products from various local companies. For this campaign, the committee will provide a gift set of Shimane's milk and dairy products as a prize for winners. Product details: https://shimane-milk.com/info/148.html

Gelateria Kurakichi (Yamaguchi)

Gelateria Kurakichi

Gelateria Kurakichi is a farm-direct gelato specialty shop rooted in Fujii Farm, one of Yamaguchi Prefecture’s oldest dairy farms with approximately 100 years of history. The shop uses fresh raw milk from its own farm to create gelato that highlights the natural sweetness and characteristics of the milk. While maintaining a family-scale operation, the farm manages every step—from growing feed grass and raising cows to milking and gelato production.

For this campaign, they will provide gelato made from their farm’s fresh raw milk as a prize for winners.

Mori no Gelateria MUCCA (Kagawa)

Mori no Gelateria MUCCA

Mori no Gelateria MUCCA is a farm-direct gelato shop in Miki Town, Kagawa Prefecture, produced by Hirono Farm, which began dairy farming in 1979 with 20 cows. The shop uses fresh raw milk from cows raised at Hirono Farm to create and sell gelato that highlights the natural flavors of the ingredients.

In collaboration with local farmers growing strawberries, dairy products, and flowers, the farm is part of the 'Amusement Farm Project,' which utilizes idle farmland. Through gelato shops, pizzerias, and cheese workshops, they aim to revitalize the region by promoting the appeal of agriculture.

For this campaign, they will provide gelato made from Hirono Farm’s fresh raw milk as a prize for winners.
