Noritake to Participate in Milan Design Week 2026

Noritake Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture; Representative Director and President: Akira Higashiyama; hereinafter, Noritake) will participate in Milan Design Week 2026, following last year's participation. At the former Baggio Military Hospital, the venue for ALCOVA, Noritake will present an experiential installation where visitors can enjoy the world of the Noritake brand with all five senses. This will include the unveiling of new works from the 'Noritake Design Collection,' live demonstrations by master painters, and an exhibition of collections that condense Noritake's excellent technology and skills.

■Live Demonstration by a Skilled Master Painter

At the venue, Masami Okada, a master painter who has created numerous highly artistic hand-painted products, including Noritake's pinnacle 'Masterpiece Collection*1,' will hold a live demonstration. This is a valuable opportunity to see his supreme skill up close.

Okada's iconic roses and artistic approach greatly inspired 'ROSE by Faye Toogood,' a collaboration with British designer Faye Toogood announced in 2025. Visitors can experience the process where his outstanding technique merges with contemporary design.

■Studio Toogood × Noritake Design Collection

This year, the partnership with Faye Toogood has deepened further, and Noritake will announce a new sculptural design collection, 'KILN by Faye Toogood,' created based on Toogood's memories and experiences during her stay at Noritake's headquarters.

Toogood states: "I was deeply impressed by the overwhelming presence of the historical chimneys and kilns that still remain at Noritake's headquarters. Inspired by these rare relics symbolizing the history of craftsmanship, I wanted to add a strong geometric essence to tableware."

'KILN' is available in three colors: matte black, matte white, and celadon, with six items in each color.

The celadon features the 'Pond' design, expressing a poetic worldview with Japanese nature motifs. Frogs, symbols of good luck, and lotus flowers are randomly arranged, creating a 'joy of discovery' on the dining table.

■AMDL CIRCLE & Aimo e Nadia × Noritake Design Collection

This first-time collaboration was born from an experimental approach involving three parties: AMDL CIRCLE, an architecture and design firm led by Italian design master Michele De Lucchi, and the Michelin-starred restaurant Aimo e Nadia.

Named 'LANDSCAPE by AMDL CIRCLE & Aimo e Nadia,' this series adopts a modular system that combines pieces of different shapes and angles. By combining each piece, it creates a sculptural and voluminous presence, forming a micro-landscape on the dining table. The contrast between the delicate watercolor-like design and the robust form redefines a new 'ritual (dining etiquette)' in modern times.

■Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation × Noritake Design Collection

The connection between Noritake and architect Frank Lloyd Wright began in the early 20th century with the design of the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo. This time, new items from 'IMPERIAL PEACOCK by the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation' will be introduced, paying homage to this historic relationship. The design, which expresses the peacock artwork carved into the Oya stone of the Imperial Hotel in tone-on-tone*2, conveys the 'elegance of nature' that Wright loved to the present day.

Launched in 2024, this collection is a signature collection symbolizing Noritake's transformation, serving as a strategic platform for 'co-creation' where talent gathers, amplifies, and disseminates. Led by Creative Director Yuichiro Hori, it has brought together global talents such as Yabu Pushelberg, Faye Toogood, Marc Newson, AB Concept, and the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation. By expressing the creativity of unique designers with Noritake's excellent technology and skills, it expands the possibilities of modern design.
