Project Title: The Social Network "Y" — Guaranteed to Go Viral
Comment from Creative Director, Sakiko Kamiyama
'For "The Social Network Y," we trained AI to mimic human fault-finding and malicious leaps in logic, designing an experience where an irrational online backlash erupts from just one uploaded image.
It’s frightening, yet strangely funny.
It makes you laugh, yet somehow doesn’t feel like someone else’s problem.
We aimed to connect this feeling directly to the film’s theme—transforming what could have been an explanatory ad into a personal user experience.
We are deeply honored to receive international recognition.
Our heartfelt thanks to Shochiku, the production team, and everyone who experienced the campaign.
At no plan, we believe AI should not be used only for convenience or efficiency, but as a 'director' of emotional experiences.
We will continue to explore this potential in the future.'
About 'The Social Network Y — Guaranteed to Go Viral'
'The Social Network Y — Guaranteed to Go Viral' is a special AI-powered simulated backlash experience created as a promotional campaign for the film 'I Am Not the One Trending' (released September 26, 2025).
The AI, trained on fault-finding behavior, analyzes users’ uploaded photos in detail, automatically generating unjustified backlash scenarios. On the fictional social network 'Y,' initially positive comments gradually turn critical and spread virally. The experience is designed to let users personally feel the fear of being suddenly caught in an unwarranted online firestorm—a central theme of the film.
The campaign went viral immediately after launch, with over 1 million plays during its peak 5-day period (September 16–20, 2025), over 100 million total social media impressions, and 10 million total views of related videos created by YouTubers and content creators.
This award follows the campaign’s previous recognition with an Excellence Award at the 'JAAA Young Professionals’ Communication Grand Prix,' hosted by the Japan Association of Advertising Agencies (JAAA), announced in April 2026.
