■ Background and Purpose of the Event
As another nationwide heatwave is expected this year, "adaptation" to climate change has become an urgent issue for both local governments and companies. Risks directly linked to the daily lives of local residents and business continuity, such as heatstroke countermeasures, wind and flood damage, and wildlife damage, are becoming more serious year by year. There is a strong demand for venues to learn practical adaptation measures through collaboration between administration and the private sector.
This webinar will invite experts from the National Institute for Environmental Studies and the Environmental Restoration and Conservation Agency (ERCA) to share the latest practical examples and scientific trends from Japan and abroad. We will discuss topics divided into "actions that can be started today" and "themes to consider in the future," providing a learning platform where participants can connect to actions starting tomorrow.
