【Management Certification®】 2026 First-Half Exam Applications Now Open

General Incorporated Association Japan Management Association (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; Chairman: Takahisa Takahara) began accepting applications for the 2026 first-half Management Certification® exams on May 8th.

The Management Certification® is a certification exam that measures systematic knowledge in the fields of management and administration, widely utilized by a diverse range of individuals from students to business professionals. It also has high affinity with the learning content of the Small and Medium Enterprise Management Consultant exam, making it effective for those considering future qualification acquisition to build a solid foundation.

What is Management Certification®?

It is a national-level certification exam that certifies that individuals have reached a certain standard in basic and specialized knowledge related to management, and in their ability to solve management challenges.

Currently, it consists of three grades: Class III, Class II, and Class I.

You can choose your preferred date and time to take the exam at approximately 360 venues nationwide (CBT method).

2026 Schedule

The 2026 first-half exams will be held on the following dates.

Class III and Class II

Exam Period: June 1st (Mon) - July 31st (Fri)

Application Period: May 8th (Fri) - July 28th (Tue)

*The second-half exams are scheduled to be held between October and January 2027.

Class I

Exam Period: July 1st (Wed) - July 31st (Fri)

Application Period: May 8th (Fri) - July 28th (Tue)

*The second-half exams are scheduled to be held between November and January 2027.

Overview of Each Class

【Class III】

Assesses understanding of basic and fundamental knowledge of business administration.

Exam Format

(1) Question Type: Multiple-choice questions (4 options) 50 questions

(2) Exam Time: 60 minutes

(3) Eligibility: No restrictions

(4) Passing Score: 60 points or more out of 100 points

6,600 yen (tax included)

【Class II】

Assesses acquisition of knowledge related to business and management.

Exam Format

(1) Question Type: Multiple-choice questions (4 options) 100 questions

(2) Exam Time: 120 minutes

(3) Eligibility: No restrictions

(4) Passing Score: 60 points or more out of 100 points and a correct answer rate of 40% or more for each subject

11,000 yen (tax included)

【Class I】

Assesses the ability to propose effective solutions to various challenges faced in business scenes, based on optimal theories and thinking methods.

Exam Format

(1) Question Type: Essay type (3-5 short answer questions + 1 long answer question)

(2) Exam Time: 60 minutes

(3) Eligibility: No restrictions

(4) Passing Score: 70 points or more out of 100 points
