BIMobject Japan Inc. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Akira Uozu) on June 2, 2026. The data is available on BIMobject® (https://www.bimobject.com/ja) and other platforms, targeting the domestic Japanese market. Additional data will be added periodically. There has been a shortage of BIM data for window families tailored to the Japanese market, posing a challenge for designers utilizing BIM. The newly released data, created by YKK AP Inc., a major domestic window and sash manufacturer, includes detailed 3D shapes, fitting details, and 2D cross-sectional representations directly linked to drafting, providing precise, practical information. This allows designers and contractors to select and place products (windows, sashes, doors, etc.) with intended specifications within BIM models, promoting and streamlining BIM adoption in design. Concurrently, for manufacturers, utilizing their own BIM data represents a form of digital sales activity without time or physical constraints, expected to serve as a countermeasure to labor shortages by increasing opportunities for design adoption through digital and web channels.
