Nohara Group Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Kosuke Nohara), which is promoting construction DX with BuildApp, is pleased to announce its sponsorship of the "DfMA Symposium vol.2," organized by Shibaura Institute of Technology SIT Research Institute Global Building Technology Research Center (GBTRC), to be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at the Main Lecture Hall, Exchange Building, Toyosu Campus, Shibaura Institute of Technology.
The Japanese construction industry faces various problems such as a shortage of skilled workers and the impact of overtime regulations, making it time to review the very nature of construction methods. The DfMA Symposium focuses on "DfMA: Design for Manufacture and Assembly" as one solution to these problems, inviting experts and practicing companies to hold symposiums.
This will be the third time the symposium is held (renamed from the April 2025 event). The previous event (renamed from the April 2025 event) focused on "Involvement of Production Technology in the Design Development Stage" and attempted to organize common issues in production technology during the design phase.
This time (vol.2), the main theme is "Breaking Away from Rear-Loading," delving into innovations and challenges for achieving front-loading, and the essence of DfMA.
Furthermore, our Group CSO, Mr. Yamazaki, will also speak at this symposium, introducing initiatives for manufacturing and processing collaboration within BuildApp, along with case studies of the "BuildApp Joinery Production Drawing and Exploded View Linkage Service" which began commercial provision on February 26, 2026.

What is the Global Building Technology Research Center (GBTRC)?
Japan's construction industry faces many structural problems, such as a shortage of workers, low labor productivity, and an increase in surplus stock. To solve these issues, a comprehensive and integrated research system in the field of construction production systems, including industry mechanisms, legal systems, and various management methodologies, is necessary. However, there are currently almost no universities or research institutions in Japan that can serve as a receptacle for such initiatives.
The "Global Building Technology Research Center" was established as a leading research hub in the field of global construction production systems, with the aim of systematically organizing the various problems facing Japan's construction industry and formulating early prescriptions.
About BIM Design-Manufacturing-Construction Support Platform "BuildApp" *Registered Trademark
"BuildApp" is a cloud service that converts BIM design data created by design offices and general contractors into more detailed data, utilizing it as necessary data for each construction process to improve the productivity of the entire construction process. Through multiple services that connect design estimation to manufacturing, distribution, construction management, and maintenance management with BIM, it provides services tailored to each player. It eliminates the effort and rework in design and construction, optimizes manufacturing and distribution, and contributes to cost reduction and waste/CO2 reduction.
"BuildApp" supports fundamental efficiency improvements and future-oriented growth in the construction supply chain, and together with you, we will update the construction industry, aiming to "transform society through construction DX."
What we aim to achieve with BuildApp
・ Connect construction stakeholders with BIM-driven data to foster collaboration
・ Eliminate waste in the industry through process visualization and task automation
・ Transform the supply chain with construction companies aiming for productivity improvement through DX and reduction of waste and CO2 emissions, to "transform society through construction DX."
BuildApp's new service "BuildApp Interior Material Quantity and Procurement Service" to begin commercial provision in February 2025
"BuildApp Interior Material Quantity and Procurement Service" is a service for interior finishing work that can calculate material order quantities and automatically output construction information.
It streamlines tasks related to material procurement required for interior finishing work with BIM, achieving efficient and waste-free material procurement.
Commercial provision began on February 3, 2025, marking the first step in transforming "interior finishing work, where BIM adoption has been slow in construction projects," from an information management perspective.
