Nitto Kogyo Corporation (Headquarters: Nagakute City, Aichi Prefecture; President: Toru Kurono) conducted a 'factory tour' in fiscal year 2025 for approximately 260 students from six elementary schools (four 3rd-grade classes, two 5th-grade classes) in Seto City, Aichi Prefecture.
This initiative took place at the 'Seto Plant,' which began operations in April 2024. The plant is a state-of-the-art, environmentally friendly factory that covers 100% of its electricity with renewable energy, partly through the installation of a solar power generation system.
Nitto Kogyo will continue to aim to be a company that stands by and walks together with the local community through educational support for the children who will lead the next generation.
### Main Contents of the Factory Tour The tour was structured with the following three programs to deepen the students' understanding:
**① Video Viewing & Circuit Breaker Experience** After learning about the circuit breaker production process through a video, each student was given a 'skeleton model' breaker that showed the internal structure. By actually operating it (turning it on and off), they learned about the mechanism for using electricity safely and the role of distribution boards.
**② Factory Tour** Students walked through the actual circuit breaker manufacturing site, experiencing the ingenuity of the workers and cutting-edge manufacturing where numerous robots are active.
**③ Showroom Tour** In addition to the circuit breakers they saw in the factory, students viewed Nitto Kogyo products used in familiar places, such as home distribution boards and charging equipment for electric vehicles.
### Creation and Exhibition of 'Introduction Posters' by Students To conclude the tour, the students created 'Nitto Kogyo Introduction Posters' summarizing what they learned.
