Nitto Kogyo Corporation (Headquarters: Nagakute City, Aichi Prefecture; President and Representative Director: Toru Kurono; hereinafter "Nitto Kogyo") is pleased to announce that its demonstration proposal at its Seto factory, which was submitted as a field for implementing a demonstration project in fiscal year 2026, has been evaluated and selected as a demonstration field for the "Perovskite Solar Cell (*) Diffusion and Expansion Project" promoted by Aichi Prefecture.
Aichi Prefecture aims to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 and is promoting the widespread adoption of "perovskite solar cells," which can be installed on walls and roofs with low load-bearing capacity, where conventional silicon-based solar cells are difficult to install.
Nitto Kogyo and its group company EM Solutions Corporation (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and CEO: Takaaki Mano; Representative Director and COO: Yu Sugawara; hereinafter "EM Solutions") endorse the objectives of this project. Nitto Kogyo will provide its factory facilities as a demonstration field, and EM Solutions will be responsible for the design and construction of electrical equipment, thereby contributing to the expanded introduction of renewable energy.
As members of the "Aichi Perovskite Solar Cell Promotion Council," Nitto Kogyo and EM Solutions will leverage the knowledge gained through this demonstration to cooperate in solving challenges and establishing model cases for the social implementation of "perovskite solar cells."
*Perovskite solar cells are solar cells that use a crystal structure called perovskite, characterized by being lightweight and highly flexible compared to conventional silicon-based solar cells.

■ Background and Aim of this Demonstration
As suitable sites for installing solar power generation facilities decrease in Japan, the widespread adoption of "perovskite solar cells," which can also be installed on building walls, is expected. Approximately 1.3 million "high-voltage receiving facilities" (by contract count) exist nationwide, installed in factories, commercial facilities, office buildings, etc. This demonstration will verify the effectiveness of these "high-voltage receiving facilities" based on the hypothesis that they have "high potential as suitable installation sites."
■ Overview of the Demonstration
"Perovskite solar cells" will be installed on the top and door surfaces of high-voltage receiving equipment within Nitto Kogyo's Seto factory and utilized as a power source for surrounding facilities.
