Nishitetsu (Nishi-Nippon Railroad Co., Ltd.) will operate its regional culinary journey train, "THE RAIL KITCHEN CHIKUGO," for its "Special Course for Chikugogawa River Fireworks Festival" again this year, coinciding with the Chikugogawa River Fireworks Festival held on August 5, 2026 (Wed).

The Chikugogawa River Fireworks Festival is one of the largest in western Japan, attracting approximately 450,000 visitors annually. To further enhance this historic fireworks festival, which has a history of over 370 years since 1650, we began operating this special course in 2022. Last year, it sold out just 10 minutes after reservations opened, indicating its immense popularity.

<Highlights of This Course>

- NEW! Route Change

We have revised the operating route from previous years, increasing the number of times the train crosses the Chikugogawa River Bridge to provide more opportunities to enjoy the fireworks. (The train will run two round trips between Nishi-Nishikōri Station and Hanabatake Station.)

- Stop on the Chikugogawa River Bridge

The train will stop for approximately 6 minutes on the Chikugogawa River Bridge on the Nishi-Nishitetsu Tenjin Omuta Line, about 2 km from the fireworks launch site.

You can enjoy the fireworks, which will light up the night sky and reflect on the water, from a prime viewing spot.

- Live Fireworks Display Projected Inside the Train

Using three "FP-Z8000" spatial presentation projectors provided by Fujifilm Imaging Systems Corp., live footage of the Chikugogawa River Fireworks Festival will be projected inside the train. This creates an immersive experience, as if you are at the venue, even during sections where fireworks are not visible.

We invite you to take this opportunity to ride "THE RAIL KITCHEN CHIKUGO's" one-day special course and enjoy a luxurious time while watching the Chikugogawa River Fireworks Festival from the comfort of the air-conditioned train. We will continue to provide services that meet our customers' needs, discover local tourism resources, and promote the charm of the region to contribute to its revitalization and development.
