'Fuka' -Floating Flowers- Starts April 1, 2026

　Fukuoka Prefectural Ohori Park Japanese Garden (Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City), managed by Nishitetsu Green Engineering Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City) and Kazuyuki Ishihara Design Laboratory Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo), will begin exhibiting new content, "Fuka" -Floating Flowers-, from Wednesday, April 1, 2026.

　This garden has been hosting the "Ohori Park Japanese Garden Sora" art event since last July, which offers a new sensation by fusing a Japanese garden with digital illumination technology. It has been very well received, with over 57,000 cumulative visitors. The newly introduced "Fuka" -Floating Flowers- is content that can be enjoyed not only at night with illuminations but also during the daytime. By floating approximately 1,000 colorful flower objects in the "Lower Pond" within the garden, it creates a new "Wa" (Japanese) charm that differs between day and night. The design and construction supervision for this content were handled by world-renowned garden designer Mr. Kazuyuki Ishihara, who is also a member of the designated management team for this garden.

　■"Fuka" -Floating Flowers- (Day)

In a tranquil Japanese garden with natural stones and pine trees, colorful flowers "float," creating an unreal landscape that deviates from the ordinary. The circular steps leading to the center invite people to the water's surface, creating a special experience of being surrounded by flowers. As you advance, your perspective gradually changes, allowing you to enjoy the sensation of walking on water filled with flowers. It's not just a garden to observe; it's an experience where you yourself are "surrounded by flowers."

As the sun sets, the story transitions to a new scene. The production team of the "Sora" art event, which resonates with the concept of "Fuka" -Floating Flowers-, illuminates the floating flower objects on the water's surface. Soft light rising from underwater and intricate lighting pouring down from around the pond create a mystical and dramatic scene. Please enjoy the glamorous space, different from the vibrant "Fuka" -Floating Flowers- during the day.

　This event can be viewed during the daytime with the Japanese Garden admission fee and during the nighttime with an admission ticket to the "Sora" art event. By adding further color to the dazzling green Japanese Garden during the day and new allure to the popular "Sora" at night, we hope that many people will experience an extraordinary space that can only be found in this garden.

Mr. Kazuyuki Ishihara (Garden Designer, Representative of Kazuyuki Ishihara Design Laboratory Co., Ltd.)

　Born in Nagasaki Prefecture in 1958. He has won a total of 13 gold medals at the "RHS Chelsea Flower Show," the world's oldest and most prestigious. He handles landscape design, construction, and comprehensive production for gardens and green walls, with a focus on design, for both individuals and corporations, domestically and internationally. As a greening producer, he promotes urban development using greenery throughout Japan.
