Nisshin Hifuka & Keiseigeka, a medical corporation (Location: Saitama City, Saitama Prefecture; Chairman: Ryoichi Hiraiwa), conducted a 'Survey on the Reality of Perceived Age Ideals and Reality Among Women in their 30s and 40s' targeting women in their 30s and 40s who are interested in beauty. This survey revealed the self-evaluation of perceived age, the gap between ideal and reality, and the actual state of measures taken to approach the ideal among women in their 30s and 40s who are interested in beauty. For women in their 30s and 40s today, self-perception regarding 'perceived age' is a factor that affects their overall social life, including self-esteem and career awareness. As opportunities to objectively view one's appearance increase with the evolution of digital tools, it is presumed that many women are troubled by the gap between their ideal and reality. Furthermore, in response to the question, 'How much younger than your actual age would you ideally like your perceived age to be?', the results were: 1st '1-4 years younger than actual age' at 39.6%, 2nd '5 or more years younger than actual age' at 38.7%, and 3rd 'appropriate for actual age' at 18.3%.
