Nippon Kinzoku Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and President: Yasushi Shimokawa; Securities Code: 5491) is pleased to announce the establishment of a sample supply system for its "Inner Polished Capillary Tubes (Fine Pipes)," which achieve dramatically improved inner surface smoothness in micro-diameter sizes through the development of proprietary inner polishing technology.

■ Background of Development: Increasing demand for "micro-diameter x ultra-smoothness"
Until now, our company has developed high-precision small-diameter tubes with an inner diameter of 0.50mm and an inner surface roughness of Ra0.5μm or less, using austenitic stainless steel, which have been highly evaluated in various fields.

In recent years, with the further advancement of analytical instruments and medical/bio instruments, there has been a rapidly increasing demand for "capillary tubes that are smaller in diameter and have a smoother inner surface*." To achieve a reduction in inner surface roughness in the 0.30mm inner diameter class, which was difficult with conventional manufacturing methods, we have now established our proprietary polishing technology.
*Capillary refers to a general term for hollow thin tubes, especially those with small inner diameters. For example, they are used as piping connecting analytical columns, pressure pumps, and detectors in analytical instruments such as High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and Gas Chromatography (GC). With the performance and speed improvements of analytical instruments, there is a demand for smaller inner diameters, higher precision in inner surface circularity and roughness, and higher pressure resistance in piping.
■ Features of "Inner Polished Capillary Tubes"
This product integrates our precision processing technology and achieves the following excellent characteristics:
Overwhelming inner surface smoothness: Inner surface roughness significantly reduced from conventional Ra0.5μm or less to Ra0.2μm or less.
High dimensional accuracy: Inner diameter tolerance of ±0.03mm achieved for micro-diameters of 0.30 to 0.70mm.
Excellent corrosion resistance: Made of austenitic stainless steel, enabling use in a wide range of fields including analytical instruments, medical/bio instruments, and semiconductor/high-purity gas supply.
■ Future Outlook
We are currently promoting the design and production of manufacturing equipment with the aim of mass production by fiscal year 2027.
This product embodies "Near Net Performance" (achieving the performance required for the final product at the material/component level), which is set forth in our 11th Medium-Term Management Plan "NIPPON KINZOKU 2030." We will continue to provide new value that meets societal needs through our rolling and composite molding technologies for diverse materials.
