(Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Shuichi Urushihara) announced that the grid-scale battery storage facility "NC Shirakawa Omotego Banzawa Power Storage Station," constructed in Shirakawa City, Fukushima Prefecture, commenced power reception on April 28, 2026.

This facility is positioned as a regionally distributed energy hub that absorbs and levels fluctuations in renewable energy output, and responds to JEPX (wholesale market), supply-demand adjustment markets, and capacity markets. It also functions as a disaster prevention hub to support local power supply during disasters, contributing to the improvement of regional resilience.

With the widespread adoption of renewable energy, adjusting the balance of electricity supply and demand has become a critical issue. Battery storage plays a central role in absorbing these fluctuations and supporting stable grid operation.

This project adopts a CATL battery storage system and a TMEIC PCS (Power Conditioning System). The equipment configuration, combining high reliability and control performance, enables stable operation in the supply-demand adjustment market, JEPX (wholesale market), and capacity markets.

Suzuki Electric Co., Ltd. was responsible for the construction, carrying out design and construction with consideration for local environmental preservation and safety.
