Demonstrating the Achievement of Both Sales Maximization and Store Operation Labor-Saving Through RF Tag Utilization

Nippon Shuppan Hanbai Inc. (Nippan) and PubteX Inc. conducted a demonstration experiment to verify the feasibility of maximizing sales and saving labor in store operations using RF tags. The trial, held at the Ayumi BOOKS Suginami store over six months, utilized PubteX's RF tags and the 'BOOKTRAIL' traceability system. By optimizing display and restocking operations based on real-time data, sales of new comics increased by approximately 15%, and overall comic sales outperformed the national year-over-year average by 9.0 points. The system also enabled efficient, reproducible operations even under a single-staff setup, significantly advancing the digital transformation of bookstore management.
