In today's complex world, 'design' is no longer just a skill for designers. From daily operations to new business development, it plays a vital role in identifying the essence of problems and guiding them toward solutions. The International Design Center launched the 'Design School' last year to provide practical training on how to integrate design into business as a management ally.

We are now accepting participants for the first session of 2026, which begins on June 30 (Tue). We invite those struggling with new business or product development, those in support organizations, and designers who partner with businesses to join us.

Session 8 Theme: Why consider 'Design-Driven Management' now?

Since the 'Design-Driven Management' declaration by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the Japan Patent Office in 2018, there has been a growing trend among SMEs to incorporate design to fundamentally rethink their strengths and business objectives.

Why is 'design-driven management' required for SMEs in today's volatile world? Where should they start? We will uncover tips to take the first step.

Recommended for: - Business professionals in new business/product development, marketing, or sales. - Government, financial, and chamber of commerce staff supporting businesses. - Designers and creators. - Anyone interested in design. * Participants are welcome to join with bosses or colleagues.
