When to Replace Glasses? Survey Reveals 3-Year Standard Driven by Vision Changes

Nikon-Essilor Co., Ltd. conducted a survey among 124 staff members of the Nikon Lenswear Partner network regarding the replacement timing of eyeglass lenses. The results showed an average replacement period of 36.2 months (about 3 years). The most common reason cited was 'changes in vision' at 52%, followed by 'coating degradation' (34%) and 'scratches or dirt accumulation' (27%). The company emphasizes the importance of periodic check-ups at specialized optical stores to maintain visual comfort.
