Planning and Operation: Sakawa Co., Ltd. Project Cooperation and Promotion: Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun Co., Ltd.
Supporting Organization: National Association of Principals of Industrial High Schools
Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President and Representative Director: Taku Kamisaka) will begin offering "School Career Search," a video distribution service for industrial high school students that showcases the appeal of companies through videos (planned and operated by Sakawa Co., Ltd.). To mark the launch of this service, an online business briefing for companies will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026.
A New Company Introduction Service to Support Career Choices for Industrial High School Students
"School Career Search" is a career support service that utilizes tablet devices and in-school digital signage, which industrial high school students use daily, to deliver the appeal of companies and job descriptions to students through corporate introduction videos. By conveying the workplace atmosphere, the appearance of working people, and the sense of fulfillment in work through video, which could not be fully conveyed through traditional paper job offers, the service encourages students to proactively research companies and choose their career paths independently.
Furthermore, by creating a system where students can independently browse company information through a school-specific company search site, it also contributes to reducing the workload of teachers responsible for career guidance.
An Initiative Born from the Vision of Blackboard Manufacturer Sakawa Co., Ltd.
This service is planned and operated by Sakawa Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Toon City, Ehime Prefecture; President and Representative Director: Hisatada Sakawa), a blackboard manufacturer celebrating its 106th anniversary.
Through daily interactions with teachers at industrial high schools, the company realized the challenge that students were not sufficiently exposed to opportunities to consider fulfilling local companies, which led to the planning of this service.
Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun Co., Ltd. resonated with the idea of supporting Japanese manufacturing and the success of small and medium-sized enterprises, aiming to illuminate the future of manufacturing, and is jointly promoting this project.
