From 'Using' to 'Creating' a School. NIJIN Koto Gakuin Involves Students in Campus Design, Website Creation, and App Development

NIJIN Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Tokyo, Representative Director: Tatsuro Hoshino) is advancing a new learning initiative at its correspondence support school 'NIJIN Koto Gakuin' where students themselves are involved in creating the school.

We will create opportunities for students to participate in building the school's framework, such as designing the metaverse campus, creating personal sites using WordPress, and developing a school app.

Through these initiatives, NIJIN Koto Gakuin will realize learning where students are involved not as 'those who use the school' but as 'those who create the school'.

Currently, at NIJIN Koto Gakuin, we are preparing a new learning environment where students can be involved in school creation, such as:
- A system where students themselves can design the metaverse campus
- Personal site creation using WordPress
- Participation in a school app being developed by elementary and middle school students and engineers

These initiatives were born from NIJIN Koto Gakuin's educational philosophy, which aims to be a school where students create their own future, rather than just a 'school for studying'.

According to a survey by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, the number of truant students nationwide has reached about 350,000 and is increasing year by year.
While the number of students choosing to enter correspondence high schools is increasing, issues such as:

have also been pointed out.

At NIJIN Koto Gakuin, we utilize a metaverse campus spreading across a virtual online space.
We will advance initiatives where students think about and design the school space, such as:
- Campus decorations
- Spatial design
- Object placement
We will develop it as a place they create themselves, rather than a place simply given to them.

2. WordPress Site Creation
At NIJIN Koto Gakuin, we will also engage in personal site creation for students to broadcast their own activities.
Utilizing WordPress, they will create sites to broadcast their activities, such as:
- Activity portfolios
- Publishing creative works
- Project introductions
By having their own broadcasting base from high school, they will nurture experiences that lead to future career paths and challenges.

3. School App Development Project
Currently, at NIJIN Academy, engineers and elementary/middle school students are working on developing a dedicated school app.
High school students at NIJIN Koto Gakuin will also join this project, creating opportunities to be involved in:
- Proposing ideas for new features
- Design improvements
- Project planning
We will provide the experience of creating the very framework of the school, involving everyone from elementary to high school students.
