NIJIN Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Koto-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Tatsuro Hoshino), which operates the alternative school "NIJIN Academy" for children not attending school, is pleased to announce the opening of the Abiko Campus as a physical classroom. This marks the first NIJIN Academy location in the Tokatsu district of Chiba Prefecture.
NIJIN Academy
Featured on NHK's "Ohayou Nippon" as a virtual school utilizing the metaverse, NIJIN Academy has welcomed a cumulative total of over 700 elementary and junior high school students. It has achieved a school satisfaction rate of 91.4% and a homeroom satisfaction rate of 96%. With an attendance recognition rate of 97% and over 200 students successfully returning to traditional schools, we have contributed to the growth of children through close cooperation with schools and boards of education.
Going forward, we will expand our "hybrid schooling" model nationwide. In this model, students use the metaverse campus for compulsory education, and once they regain their confidence, they coexist with local extracurricular activities to focus on their specific areas of interest.
NIJIN Academy Abiko Campus × Taberuno Cooking
NIJIN Academy will open the "NIJIN Academy Abiko Campus" in partnership with "Taberuno Cooking," which opened in Abiko City, Chiba Prefecture, last May. This classroom will be a place where children who are not attending school can step out of their homes, connect with the local community, and enrich their lives through "food."
Choosing the ingredients to cook ourselves! We will deepen our learning about "food" while connecting with producers and the local community.
