The title 'Gradually' carries the meaning of 'slowly' or 'changing bit by bit.'
Fish swimming in aquarium tanks constantly adjust their fins, body lines, and postures while moving within the currents, showing a diverse range of expressions. Underwater, nothing stops; everything continues to change its form smoothly.
The colors of the lighting also flow through blue, purple, pink, yellow, and green, enveloping the entire space as a gradient without clear boundaries. The transition of color and light resonates with the movement of underwater creatures, creating a time of quiet and continuous change.
In this exhibition, I have captured expressions that are both a 'moment' and a 'sequence' in the underwater world, as well as the process where colors and shapes gradually overlap and blend together. Though they are constantly changing, they are somehow calm; they look the same, yet are never the same twice. The title 'Gradually' reflects my desire to express the endless gradient of time drawn in the water through photography.

Born in Tokyo. After graduating from university, she worked as a stage actress, but became interested in the side behind the camera while posing as a model. She joined a camera magazine publisher after presenting her work and learned photography and editing. Currently, she is active as a freelance photographer across magazines, the web, events, and photography classes. She actively approaches subjects she is interested in, so her shooting genres range widely from babies to fighter jets. Member of the Japan Professional Photographers Society (JPS).
