Melon Afternoon Tea Image
The Lobby Lounge on the 1st floor of The Tokyo Station Hotel (1-9-1 Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) offers seasonal limited-edition sweets that incorporate fruits of the season and showcase the chef's creativity. From August 1, 2026 (Sat) to September 30, 2026 (Wed), we will be serving "Melon Afternoon Tea," "Melon Sweets Set," and "Melon Squash," featuring the summer flavor, melon, as the star.
Melons are known for their rich aroma, melt-in-your-mouth flesh, and refreshing sweetness. We have carefully selected the most delicious varieties available at the time, such as Musk melon, Earl's melon, and Quincy melon, and combined them with ingredients that enhance their individual characteristics to create a refreshing lineup that fully brings out the charm of fresh melon, unique to summer.
Just a 30-step walk from Tokyo Station. In this "hidden" healing space within the station, known only to those in the know, please enjoy a luxurious rewarding time with the cool flavors woven by seasonal melons.
Melon Afternoon Tea
The afternoon tea at the Lobby Lounge, which colors summer afternoons, features a gorgeous selection of 5 types of sweets where you can fully enjoy the rich, seasonal melon. The chef's recommendation is the visually refreshing glass dessert, "Mini Melon Parfait." This dish features layers of melon flesh, lemon jelly, mint jelly, and chantilly cream, creating a refreshing aftertaste.
The three-tiered stand, subtly adorned with the hotel logo, includes the chef's confident creation, "Melon and White Chocolate Mousse," with lemongrass jelly as an accent, filling your mouth with melon aroma. Also featured are "Melon Panna Cotta," meticulously crafted for a smooth, melt-in-your-mouth texture, and the ever-popular, light and fluffy "Melon Shortcake."
The sweets, with just the right amount of sweetness to enhance the melon's natural flavor, allow you to enjoy variations in texture, aroma, and taste in different styles. The scones come in two varieties: plain and Earl Grey. They are served with lemon jam, made using domestic lemons with their peel, offering a hint of bitterness, and clotted cream.
For savories, we offer authentic hotel-quality dishes such as the classic combination of "Prosciutto and Melon," "Egg Danish Sandwich" with its addictive soft and gentle texture, and our homemade "Pâté de Campagne with Pickled Tokyo Vegetables" with a hint of herbs.
Seasonal fruits are also served as a palate cleanser. The exquisite contrast with the sweets will lead to a richer overall afternoon tea experience.
Melon Assortment
We have beautifully arranged the charm of melon into a single plate with three types of desserts.
"Melon Tart" is a jewel-like creation, luxuriously adorned with two types of round-scooped fresh melon on a rich custard cream fragranced with Tahitian vanilla beans.
"Melon Mousse" is a light and refreshing dessert, with yogurt mousse and Muscat jelly enveloped in melon mousse.
"Melon Glass Dessert," layered with champagne jelly, melon sorbet, and Shine Muscat, is a refreshing item perfect for the hot season.
This sweets set, offering different flavors from the afternoon tea sweets, is also recommended for pairing with a glass of champagne.
Gyokuro-Scented Melon Squash
A limited-time summer drink that allows you to enjoy the fruity flavor of fresh melon and the refreshing sensation of carbonation. We combine melon puree with Gyokuro tea, carefully extracted using cold brewing, and lime juice.
This is an unusual melon squash made with Japanese tea. You can enjoy its elegant sweetness and clean aftertaste.
