Hotel Metropolitan Kamakura (operated by Nippon Hotel Co., Ltd., General Manager: Hiroko Kusano) will begin selling an official website-exclusive accommodation plan, "<Official Website Exclusive> [An Extraordinary Experience on a Kamakura Night] Accommodation Plan with Special Night Viewing of Hōkoku-ji Temple for Guests Only," which includes a special opening of the renowned Kamakura temple, Hōkoku-ji, exclusively for hotel guests. The temple normally closes in the evening and will be open for a total of four days in July and August 2026.

This plan is a collaboration with Hōkoku-ji Temple, a Rinzai Zen temple of the Kenchō-ji school, which has received the highest rating of three stars in the "Michelin Green Guide." It is a plan with a completely private viewing, limited to a maximum of 30 guests per date. Away from the daytime hustle and bustle, the "heart-cleansing, special tranquility" presented by the approximately 2,000 bamboo stalks in the "Bamboo Garden," fantastically illuminated, is a prime seat in Kamakura during summer that can only be experienced by staying overnight. You can enjoy a special summer night while listening to the pleasant sound of the wind and the water flowing over the rocky terrain.

In addition, we offer a complimentary authentic matcha green tea and traditional Japanese sweets at the tea house "Kyūkōan," as well as a late check-out benefit allowing you to relax in your room until 12:00 PM the following morning. Founded in 1334, this is a Rinzai Zen temple of the Kenchō-ji school. The path from the temple gate to the main hall is lined with many moss-covered stones. The serene grounds, featuring a deep dry landscape garden that utilizes natural cliffs and greenery, and approximately 2,000 Moso bamboo stalks swaying in the wind, offer authentic matcha green tea.
