Nihongo Academy Co., Ltd. endorses April Dream, an initiative to make April 1st a day for sharing dreams. This press release is the dream of 'Nihongo Academy Co., Ltd.'
As Japan faces a deepening labor shortage, the acceptance of foreign talent continues to expand. However, what is needed now is not just 'numbers,' but 'high-quality talent' who can be active on the front lines.
Based on its track record of having instructed **400 foreign talents before their arrival in Japan**, Nihongo Academy Co., Ltd. aims to realize a society that maximizes the value of foreign talent through a new approach called pre-arrival education.
April Dream
Our dream at Nihongo Academy is to create a society where **<u>foreign talent can thrive as 'chosen assets' rather than 'cheap labor.'</u>**
Until now, Japan has focused on increasing the 'number' of foreign talents accepted. However, on the ground, issues such as: - Inability to communicate in Japanese - High training costs - Poor retention rates ...have piled up.
As a result, a mismatch has occurred where foreign talent cannot fully demonstrate their abilities, and companies are unable to utilize them effectively.
We will change this situation.
The future is an era where **'having education completed before arrival in Japan' becomes the norm.**
We will build a social infrastructure where individuals arrive in Japan equipped not only with Japanese language skills but also with an understanding of their work, culture, and communication, enabling them to be effective team members from day one.
Past Achievements
To date, Nihongo Academy has provided **Japanese language education to approximately 400 foreign talents before their arrival in Japan.**
Furthermore, in fiscal year 2025, we were selected for the Kanagawa Prefecture Acceleration Program (KSAP), a startup support program run by Kanagawa Prefecture. We have been refining our business model and promoting its social implementation. The results of our six-month demonstration experiment were presented at the Kanagawa Innovators Day Meetup Fes on March 18th.
Nihongo Academy's Initiatives
We offer a **pre-arrival online Japanese training program** for foreign talent scheduled to come to Japan on a Specified Skilled Worker visa.
1. Becoming Immediately Productive Through Pre-arrival Education
Utilizing the period while their work visa is being processed, participants acquire the following before arriving in Japan:
- Practical Japanese conversation - Specialized Japanese used in the workplace - Japanese culture and manners
This enables communication on-site immediately after arrival in Japan.
2. Learning Design that Fosters Continuation
The biggest challenge in learning Japanese is 'continuation.'
At Nihongo Academy, we have built a **fun and sustainable system** by combining: - Reading aloud training - Video content - Conversation lessons - Game-based learning
3. Interview and Self-Analysis Support
In addition to language education, we help prevent mismatches with companies by providing: - Articulation of motivation - Development of a self-PR statement - Interview practice
This leads to an **improvement in hiring success and retention rates.**
4. A Win-Win-Win Business Model
This service provides value to the following three parties:
● Companies: Reduced training costs, immediate productivity, lower turnover rates ● Registered Support Organizations: Increased value of referrals, differentiation ● Foreign Talent: Career advancement, higher income
Future Outlook
We will strengthen our collaboration with companies and registered support organizations to establish pre-arrival education as the 'standard' in society.
