Strategic Innovation Promotion Program (SIP) 'Building an Inclusive Community Platform' Symposium 2025: Reimagining the 'New Normal' from a Future Perspective — Held on Wednesday, March 18th

As part of the Cabinet Office's SIP (Strategic Innovation Promotion Program) Phase 3, the 'Building an Inclusive Community Platform' Symposium 2025 was held on Wednesday, March 18th, at City Hall & Gallery Gotanda. This initiative aims to realize regional societies equipped with 'tolerance' and 'autonomy' where diverse individuals can actively participate and maximize their well-being. The symposium shared and discussed research outcomes and directions for social implementation. This year, being the third year, the event was held under the theme of 'Reimagining the 'New Normal' from a Future Perspective,' featuring project concept presentations, talk sessions, and exhibition planning. Among these, Tamagawa Academy (Machida City, Tokyo) junior and senior high school students presented their 'Our Future Conference Project Concept Presentation,' where they announced the planning intent and content for the exhibition project 'Everyone's Discomfort Museum.' Furthermore, in a business pitch themed 'Turning Social Issues into Opportunities,' ideas for 'Implementing the 'New Normal' of the Future into Society' were showcased. As a result of the judging, the online program 'MOM UP PARK by Kenko Smile Studio' (Presenter: Akiko Tsukao, Vice President, Tsukuba Wellness Research Co., Ltd.), a research and development outcome for 'Child-rearing women' aimed at resolving health issues for pregnant women and women raising children, was awarded. Despite being held on a weekday, over 300 participants attended, both at City Hall & Gallery Gotanda and via online viewing. We extend our sincere gratitude to all.

[Part One] Social Issues and Possibilities from the Perspective of Inclusiveness ### Opening Remarks and Lecture by the Program Director Part One focused on 'Social Issues and Possibilities from the Perspective of Inclusiveness,' featuring lectures and presentations. Mr. Yoshifumi Sakashini (Cabinet Office, Office for Science, Technology and Innovation Policy, Planning Officer (Human Resources and Livelihoods)) explained the background and significance of SIP and called for cooperation, expressing his expectation that the research and development results presented at this symposium would be implemented in society in the future. In his greetings and lecture, Program Director Fumiya Kuno (hereinafter, PD) (Professor, Graduate School of Comprehensive Human Sciences, University of Tsukuba) discussed the achievements of the past SIP 'Building an Inclusive Community Platform' activities, as well as the vision, specific themes, and target areas to focus on for realizing an inclusive society. He explained that this activity involves diverse participants, including high school students, and spoke about future developments towards social implementation, such as expansion into new businesses and systems.
