Fukushima Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Fukushima City, Fukushima Prefecture, Representative: Yoshiyuki Kaneko, hereinafter referred to as Fukushima Nissan) held its entrance ceremony and company-wide strategy meeting on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at the Namie Town Regional Sports Center.
This year's entrance ceremony, held for the fourth time in Namie Town, was conducted jointly with the KANEYO Group for the first time, welcoming a total of 19 new employees: 17 from Fukushima Nissan, 1 from Nissan Parts Fukushima Sales Co., Ltd., and 1 from Napro Earth Inc.
Each new employee took their first step as a member of the KANEYO Group, with new resolutions for their careers as working adults.
In his address, Representative Director Kaneko told the new employees, "The start of your career as a working adult is the beginning of continuously facing your work, and where you take that first step holds meaning." He then spoke about the significance of holding the entrance ceremony in Namie.
Touching upon the 15th anniversary of the earthquake and nuclear accident, he stated that what was required at the time was to "gather information," "act without missing opportunities," and "support each other," and that these actions align with the company's philosophy of "Ichihayaku" (Fastest, First).
He also mentioned Namie as the founding place of Napro Earth and its history of being forced to relocate after the earthquake, positioning it as a place "where what was lost and what is being regained overlap."
Based on this, he declared "Challenge ~GRIT, Persist for One Year~" as the theme for fiscal year 2026, emphasizing the importance of building upon rebuilt relationships through continuous challenges. Furthermore, he appealed to the new employees, "Always ask yourself who your work is for," expressing his expectations for the company's role in supporting the region and its people, and for the value created by each individual's actions.
### Fukushima Reconstruction Fieldwork Conducted
Following the entrance ceremony, a "Fukushima Reconstruction Fieldwork" was conducted for all KANEYO Group employees.
With the concept of "A journey not to know the past, but to meet people and think about the future," this initiative aims to engage with the thoughts, choices, and actions of people living in the sites of the earthquake and reconstruction.
Participants visited three out of six spots located in the three districts of Namie Town, Futaba Town, and Okuma Town. By directly hearing from those involved in reconstruction efforts in each area, they deepened their understanding.
This fieldwork required participants not just to observe, but to reflect by drawing parallels with their own work, lives, and values. "Do not just see, but reflect by connecting it to your own work, life, and values. And bring back 'something' that will change your actions from tomorrow."
Under this message, each participating employee had an opportunity to re-examine their own way of being.
Fukushima Nissan will continue to advance corporate activities that support people and society, while walking alongside the region.
