Today's 126kg Iki bluefin tuna, freshly butchered in-store
Iki Island, Gono-ura Fishing Port
Following the successful and rapid sell-out of previously offered Iki bluefin tuna, the restaurant has once again secured a 126kg specimen through auction.
The tuna arrived at the store this morning and was expertly butchered on-site by skilled staff, ensuring peak freshness for same-day service.
Guests can enjoy the distinct flavors of akami (lean), chutoro (medium-fatty), and otoro (fatty tuna), as well as the fine texture and sweet marbling unique to large bluefin tuna.
Introducing 'TUNACHU' – Shochu Crafted for Bluefin Tuna
Complementing the tuna offering is 'TUNACHU', a premium barley shochu from Iki Island. As the name suggests, 'TUNACHU' combines "TUNA" and "SHOCHU", crafted specifically to pair with seafood dishes.
Iki Island is renowned as one of the birthplaces of barley shochu, with a long-standing distillation tradition. 'TUNACHU' embodies this heritage, delivering a rich, roasted barley aroma with a clean, smooth finish.
Its crisp profile enhances the rich umami and sweet fat of bluefin tuna while cleansing the palate, making it an exceptional match for sashimi. We recommend serving akami with chilled 'TUNACHU' on the rocks, while the richer chutoro and otoro pair beautifully with a straight pour that highlights the roasted grain notes.
Experience the harmony of bluefin tuna nurtured by Iki's seas and shochu born from its terroir. This unique pairing, made possible by shared origins, is available for a limited time.
