Nihonichi Sakaisujihonmachi, operated by N.I Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Yodogawa-ku, Osaka; CEO: Norio Kawamura), will begin serving the Japanese craft gin 'SHIMA STRAWBERRY' starting Monday, April 27, 2026. This gin is extremely rare, with only 100 bottles ever produced.

Our company secured 16 of these precious bottles. Our president personally visited the production site and decided to stock it after being moved by the maker's passion and the exquisite flavor. 'SHIMA STRAWBERRY' is a craft gin made in Iki, Nagasaki Prefecture, using a shochu base infused with botanicals like strawberry and yuzu. Utilizing the distillation techniques of Iki, known as the birthplace of barley shochu, it achieves a balance between fruity aroma and a sharp gin finish.

A notable feature is its sustainability; it uses food scraps, such as the trimmings from asparagus preparation that would otherwise be discarded, as part of the distillation process. Upon pouring, a gentle strawberry scent spreads. On the palate, you can feel the rich taste of strawberries, yet the finish is dry and light, making it suitable to pair with meals.

Enjoy it on the rocks to appreciate its depth, or as a soda mix for a refreshing drink. When paired with our signature horse sashimi or chicken dishes, it tightens the richness of the fats and leaves a pleasant lingering finish.
