July 3 (Fri) <Aichi, Gifu, Mie> "Drifting Redevelopment - What's Happening in Prime Station-Area Locations?"
The redevelopment plan around Meitetsu Nagoya Station, which was meant to shape Nagoya's future, has suddenly been forced into revision. This is because the general contractor that was supposed to handle the construction work withdrew its bid. The plan was to demolish buildings including a department store and construct a super-high-rise building, but the future outlook, including when demolition will begin, is unclear. Not just in Nagoya, but cases are now occurring one after another in prime station-area locations, such as around Gifu Station, where redevelopment is being forced into revision. We will consider how to face these realities.

July 10 (Fri) <Aichi, Gifu, Mie, Shizuoka> Update Your Life with "Scents"!
There is growing interest in enhancing comfort by filling spaces with scents. A dam construction office introduced scents as a measure against odors for workers, and a pediatric clinic introduced them with the expectation that patients and staff would be more relaxed. Both have experienced positive effects. Scents also have the potential to improve quality of life. Exploring hints for easily updating your life by incorporating the latest knowledge and experiments, such as using different scents for different rooms or times of day.

July 17 (Fri) <Aichi, Gifu, Mie> "Linear Rainbands VS Tokai Meteorologists"
Linear rainbands, formed by rows of developed cumulonimbus clouds, unleash disaster-level rainfall. However, their formation mechanisms are largely unknown, with prediction accuracy remaining at only 10%. Researchers in the Tokai region are tackling the mystery of these linear rainbands. Professor Yoshihiro Tachibana of Mie University focuses on the "Kuroshio Cliff," pointing out that the temperature difference between the Kuroshio Current and the surrounding seawater (the "cliff") acts as a trigger for cumulonimbus cloud formation. Meanwhile, Professor Kazuhisa Tsuboki of Nagoya University takes to the skies in an airplane to study "atmospheric rivers" (air containing large amounts of water vapor). We will closely follow the front lines of meteorologists.
July 24 (Fri) <Aichi, Gifu, Mie, Shizuoka> Prepare for the Aftermath of Disasters Through Community Connections!
According to the damage estimates for a Nankai Trough mega-earthquake released by Aichi Prefecture, disaster-related deaths during evacuation and other periods could reach as many as approximately 8,400. In the Noto Peninsula Earthquake, disaster-related deaths exceeded twice the number of direct deaths from building collapses and other causes. Community connections among residents are drawing attention as a countermeasure. In Higashiura Town, Aichi Prefecture, where prolonged evacuation periods are a concern, events like the "Neighborhood Association Scrum Grand Operation" and "Disaster Prevention Sports Day" are held to foster relationships where neighbors can help each other. Furthermore, junior high school students in the town are using popular games to promote the importance of connections. What kind of activities are underway? We will provide close-up coverage.
July 31 (Fri) <Aichi, Gifu, Mie, Shizuoka> "Pursuing Patient Safety - Nagoya University Hospital, Patient Safety Promotion Department"
How can serious medical accidents be prevented? The Patient Safety Promotion Department at Nagoya University Hospital has been continuously confronting this difficult challenge. When incidents suspected of being medical accidents, or those that could lead to serious accidents, are identified, the department immediately devises countermeasures and takes action. The team is led by Dr. Yoshimasa Nagao, a leading expert in this field. Dr. Nagao states, "Only after acquiring the foundation of safety and ethics is it permissible to undertake advanced medical care." We will follow their days of working tirelessly as a team, prioritizing patient safety above all else.
